Abstract
1342452 Endless conveyers JOS SCHLITZ BREWING CO 9 March 1972 [22 March 1971] 11114/72 Heading B8A' Bottles &c., arriving at random on a conveyer 3 are transferred into single file on a conveyer 4 by side guides 8, 9 extending diagonally across respective belts 3, 4 and spaced above the conveying surfaces 6, 7 of the belts 3, 4 by a distance exceeding the diameter of the bottles whereby fallen bottles may be discharged from the conveyers. The side guide 8 comprises a plurality of rollers 12 arranged on a series of vertically disposed spindles 13, the rollers on adjacent spindles being vertically off-set and overlapping each other. The rollers produce a vibration of the bottles and prevent jamming of the bottles between the guides. The downstream end of the guide 8 has a resilient member 24 mounted thereon and protruding into the path of the bottles to be engaged by and thereby stabilize the bottles. Further guides 26, 27 arranged downstream of the guides 8, 9 have a portion A-B disposed towards one side of the conveyer 4 such that the guide 26 is at a distance less than the radius of the bottles from the opposed edge of the conveyer whereby fallen bottles will roll from the conveyer.
