1341919 Presser foot MEFINA SA 19 April 1971 [6 March 1970] 21758/71 Heading D1G A presser foot assembly has a main support 12 fastenable to the presser bar and a sole 16 connected to the main support by intermediate means which permit the sole to move forward or backward with the work as it is fed and has means 38 actuable by the needle bar to recentre the sole when the force on the sole by the feed dog 3 is released. The intermediate means comprise a parallelogram linkage 18, 19, 20a, 21 of which link 20a supports a member 32 presenting a notch defining cam edges 35, 36 engageable with a roller 42 on the lever 38 pivoted to support 12 at 37 and having a slot 44 engaging the needle bar clamp 5. A further roller 40 on the lever 38 is engagable with a cam surface 31 on a finger 19. When the needle is at its highest position roller 40 abuts edge 31 to press the sole against the work so that the sole moves with the fed work. As the needle and feed dog descend roller 40 passes off edge 31 and roller 42 enters the notch to cooperate with cam edge 35 or 36, according to the particular direction the sole had been moved by the fed work, to recentre the sole. A paw 14 extending from support 12 has a side opening for the thread.
