Abstract

1341837 Ropes J ELLIOTT and R YARR 25 Sept 1970 45772/70 Heading D1T [Also in Division B8] A sling of elliptical cross-section comprises a plurality of wires 9 that are woven together and textile ropes 12 that are interwoven with the wires 9 to provide protective ribbing along each side of the sling. There may also be a protective ribbing of textile rope extending along the centre of the sling. The sling has an eye 15 at each end. The textile rope 12 may be of sisal or polypropylene.
