Abstract

1340608 Burglar alarms W BREITNER 17 June 1971 [19 June 1970] 28474/71 Heading G4N [Also in Divisions B5 and H3-H5] Metal filaments are applied to a glass sheet by interconnecting the metal filaments to filaments of transparent insulating fusible material, applying heat to the interconnected filaments to fuse the insulating filaments to at least one sheet of transparent plastics material, and connecting the or each sheet of plastics material to the face of a sheet of glass. In Fig. 1, insulating filaments 2 of thermoplastic and metal filaments 3 are knitted together and then bonded together, e.g. by heat, at their interlinking points. The metal filaments are interconnected together at the edges to form supply conductors 4. The fabric so formed is heat bonded to a transparent plastics sheet 5 which is then secured to one face of a sheet of glass or secured between a pair of glass sheets. In Fig. 5, metal filaments 13 are tacked or sewn to transparent plastics sheet 15 by insulating transparent filaments 12 and then embedded in the plastics sheet 15 by heating. The plastics sheet is then secured to a glass sheet or sheets. The insulating filaments and plastics sheet may be made of polyvinyl butyral, polyvinyl chloride, or polyethylene. The metal filaments may have thermoplastics or glass sheaths and the insulating filaments metal cores. The metal filaments may for heaters, receiving or transmitting antennµ, electrical screening, or burglar alarm glasses.
