Abstract
1339442 Polyurethane foam DUNLOP HOLDINGS Ltd 2 June 1971 [19 June 1970] 18603/71 Heading C3R Flexible polyurethane foam is prepared by reacting a mixture of an organic polyisocyanate (I) and a mixture of polyols (II and III); II is a poly(oxyethylene)poly(oxypropylene)polyol in which 40-70% of the hydroxyl end groups are primary hydroxyl groups; III, which is present as an antishrink agent for the foam, is a poJy- (oxyalkylene) diol or triol derived from ethylene oxide and having a poly(oxyethylene) content of at least 20% by weight and is present at 2-40% by weight of the polyol component. II and III are different polyols. I may be crude tolylene diisocyanate or crude 4,4<SP>1</SP>-diisocyanatodiphenylmethane. II may be a poly(oxyethylene)poly- (oxypropylene)triol of M.W. 3000-6000. III may be triol of M.W. 2000-3500 in which 35-45% of the terminal OH groups are primary, e.g. a polyethylene glycol.
