Abstract
1339037 Animated displays MULTISCREEN NV and H H J THOMASSEN 30 April 1971 12510/71 Heading G5C An apparatus for the display of moving objects has a front glass plate 2 having a dark transparent layer 4 and a white translucent layer 5, and a rear glass plate 3 having a picture formed by a group of surface areas each coated with a transparent coloured layer 6 surrounded by a surface area coated with an opaque layer 7. The picture is divided into a permanently displayed portion and cyclically displayed portions separately illuminated by light bulbs 10, 11, 12, so that in operation a moving image results, Fig. 3 (not shown). The unilluminated portions of the layer 6 are rendered unobservable by the partially absorbing layer 4 and the partially reflective layer 5, these layers being transparent as regards the illuminated portions. By using further representations 9 on a third glass plate 8, two alternative images can be projected on to the same portion of the layer 6 by means of two light bulbs 15 and 16 which may be alternately actuated, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown).
