Abstract

1338991 Reciprocating motors AUTOMATION DEVICES Inc 16 July 1971 [20 Nov 1970] 33556/71 Heading H2A [Also in Division B8] An inline vibratory feeder comprises an action mass 20 for supporting a linear track 11, a reaction mass 21 for dynamic balance and driving means, positioned beneath the masses 20, 21, comprising a coil 16 secured to the mass 20 and an armature 18 secured to the mass 21. As shown the coil 16 is secured to side plates 19 by bolts 29, the side plates being attached to the mass 20 by bolts 25. Slots 26 through which the bolts 25 pass allow the gap between the coil 16 and the armature 18 to be adjusted. The coil and armature may be interchanged, Fig. 3 (not shown). The masses 20, 21 are respectively secured to a base 13 by springs 22, 24 with the centre of gravity of the action mass 20 slightly below that of the reaction mass, but is brought into coincidence therewith by addition of the feeder track 11.
