Abstract

1338475 Transfer printing apparatus HAYDOCKS DYERS Ltd 10 Jan 1972 [29 Jan 1971] 3548/71 Heading B6C Web material to be printed, such as a fabric 10, a web of transfer material 8 and an endless conveyer belt 5 pass together between a heated plate 1 and a pressure-responsive member 3 which urges the webs against the plate. Preferably the plate has a lower surface of polytetrafluorethylene with stainless steel particles in it, and the member 3 is a flexible, compressed air actuated diaphragm or a pressurized skirt which is sealed against the conveyer. The plate may be of welded construction, and be heated by circulation of oil through internal passages la, or by electrical heating elements. The member 3 may be of glass fibre fabric coated with polytetrafluorethylene, of metal with a surface layer of polytetrafluorethylene with stainless steel particles therein or of silicone rubber.
