Abstract
1337799 Bursting discs K ERB 18 Nov 1971 53552/71 Heading F1D Axially spaced rupturable sealing discs 6, 7 of foil material weakened at portions 10, 12, 13, are separated by an annular ring 8 of rigid material having projecting ribs 11, 14, and radial slots 45. The peripheral portions of 6, 7, 8 being held together by clamping of upper and lower housing portions 2, 1 whilst the central portion of disc 6 is held against the radially inner portion of ring 8 by a spring-loaded closure member 3 freely slidable in housing member 2. In operation an undue pressure rise below the disc 7 is transmitted by discs 7, 6 to closure member 3 which then lifts to allow flexing of discs 6, 7 and consequent rupture at portions 10, 12, 13. A guard 19 supports discs 6, 7 in the event of a bad pressure rise.
