Abstract

1336590 Toner dispensing systems; automatic control of concentration XEROX CORP 21 Dec 1970 [29 Dec 19691 60529/70 Headings G2H G3R Developer from a cascade developing system Fig.1 (not shown) is directed by a chute 38 between Nesa glass plates 48, 50 which are alternately electrically energized with a polarity to attract toner thereto. A photo-cell P1 is illuminated through the plates 48, 50 by a lamp L-1 which also illuminates a photo-cell P2 through a filter 56, filter 56 being indicative of optimum development. The outputs of the photo-cells are compared by a circuit Figs.3, 4 (not shown) which controls a motor for dispensing toner from a hopper (30) Fig.1 (not shown). The motor rotates a cam (34) which reciprocates a perforated grid (32) at the bottom of the hopper.
