Abstract
1336563 Sulphur dioxide ESSO RESEARCH & ENG CO 27 Nov 1970 [2 Dec 1969] 58806/69 Addition to 1183937 Heading C1A [Also in Divisions C5 and B8] Sulphur dioxide in the off-gas from a fluidized bed regenerator connected in circuit with a fluidized bed partial or complete combustion apparatus, see Divisions C5, F4, is recovered and may be concentrated and compressed to provide liquid SO 2 , or treated to produce elemental sulphur or a sulphur compound, e.g. sulphuric acid. The bed particles are alkaline earth oxides, or precursors thereof, e.g. lime.
