Abstract
1335697 Optical projection apparatus XEROX CORP 9 Nov 1970 [14 Nov 1969] 53143/70 Heading G2A An optical projection apparatus, in which two transparent originals are arranged for simultaneous projection on to the same area of a light-receiving member located at an image plane, is provided with a light source 44 cooled by air from a fan, not shown, a heat absorber 48, a condenser assembly 49 in the light path to the originals, which are mounted in a carriage 47, there being one or two projection lens(es) 56 and a stationary plate having one slit per original after the carriage 47; the originals and light-receiving member are moved in synchronism to create a flowing image. The apparatus forms part of a photo-electro-phoretic copier Fig.1, (not shown), the carriage being driven in synchronism with an injecting electrode (1) by means of a cable 72 connected to the shaft (3) of the electrode. The cable 72 controls the movement of a crank arm 58 which in turn moves a follower 61 which pushes the carriage 47 so that the originals therein are scanned. The originals are two transparencies Fig.6, (not shown), one of which has an opaque centre area (105a) and a transparent border (105), so that the final copy will have a white border. The originals need not be coplanar Fig.9, in which case a semi-transparent mirror 114 is used to combine light beams 115, 129 passing through slits 123, 124. In another arrangement, Fig.10, (not shown), also using a single projection lens (137), a prism is used to combine the beams from the slits.
