Abstract
1335278 Metal pipes L WESTERBARKEY 19 April 1971 [27 Feb 1970] 21943/71 Heading F2P In a helically corrugated flexible pipe, wound from metal strip, which may be multilayer with folded over edges, the corrugations 11, 12 are increasingly radially compressed towards one or both ends of the pipe, to increase the rigidity of the pipe at its ends. The length of pipe over which the corrugations are compressed is preferably equal to at least one pipe diameter. The corrugations need not be compressed over the whole circumference, but as shown, may be compressed in wedge like areas 17 of the pipe wall, which areas widen towards the pipe end.
