Abstract
1333814 Automatic exchange systems SIEMENS AG 6 Sept 1971 [7 Sept 1970] 41421/71 Heading H4K In a telecommunication exchange in which the subscribers are divided into groups, each group being associated with a different group control device including a subscriber station scanning and control unit, a junctor scanning and control unit and a switching network control unit, the control units being under the supervision of a common stored program control unit has provision to allow for the connection to each group control device for the supervision thereof, a stored program group control unit. As shown the subscribers Tn 1/1 to Tn 1/n and junctors VL 1/1 to VL 1/n are divided into n groups Gr1 to Grn. Each group has a group control unit GS1 to GSn. Group control unit GS1, for example, includes a subscriber station scanning and control unit T-Scl, junctor scanning and control units VE-St1 and VE-Sc1 and a switching network control unit KFE1. It may also include its own stored program control unit G-St1. When the exchange which may be a PBX is initially installed with only two groups the common stored program control unit Z-St has sufficient capacity to supervise and control all calls, the group program control units need not be provided a switching arrangement such as 1RB1, 2RB1, 3RB1 providing continuity of the data busses between the units both whether the group stored program control unit is present or not. When the exchange is expanded by the addition of a further subscriber group, group stored program control units each programmed to service the control devices of its group, are inserted in each group control, the common stored program control unit being reprogrammed to control the interworking of the two group program control units involved in a call between groups.
