Abstract

1332547 Vehicle suspensions KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AG 19 April 1971 [28 March 1970] 22551/71 Heading B7D In a vehicle having a load container such as a drum 8 for carrying ready-mixed concrete, an underframe 1 and tandem front and rear axle 20, 21 suspended by springs 18, 19, the load container is directly supported on the springs 18, 19 through front and rear frame members 9, 10 which are connected to the underframe by laterally-extending pivots and prevented from rotating thereabout by radius rods 26, 27 connected to the underframe. Ball-headed pins 17 on the underframe 1 engage with holes 15, 16 in the frame members 9, 10 to pivotally connect the frame members to the underframe. Each radius rod 26, 27 is of inverted V-formation and is attached by spaced joints 28, 29 to the bottom of the frame member 9, 10 and at its apex to a respective transverse member 3 of the underframe 1. In another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the vehicle has a dumper body which is tippable by means of an hydraulic jack. The body is pivotally attached to the rear frame member and rests on a flat bearing surface at the top of the front frame member.
