133,183. Imray, O., (Soc. of Chemical Industry in Basle). Oct,. 15, 1918. Malt compositions.-Vitamine preparations are made by comminuting vegetable substances so as to retain the juice, adding a small proportion of acid, if necessary, so as just to neutralize any alkali that may be present, and drying in a, vacuo at a temperature below 100‹ C. Preparations of this sort can be baked into loaves bv adding flour and a distending agent such as bicarbonate of soda or yeast. The process is described as applied to a mixture of chestnut meal and fresh green malt, acidified with citric acid.
