Abstract

1331788 Vinyl chloride resin compositions ARMSTRONG CORK CO 6 Oct 1970 [15 Oct 1969] 47509/70 Heading C3P Compositions comprise a vinyl chloride resin, uniformly distributed ground limestone and a reinforcing amount of uniformly distributed artificial organic fibres. The fibres may be of cellulose acetate, nylon, polyvinyl chloride or polyester. The vinyl chloride resin may be a homopolymer or a copolymer with vinylidene chloride or a vinyl, acrylic or methacrylic ester. The compositions may also contain conventional plasticizers, stabilizers and pigments and may be used for making floor tiles. Examples describe compositions comprising vinyl chloride/ vinyl acetate copolymer, ground limestone, zinc and barium stearates, melamine, epoxidized soya bean oil, butyl benzyl phthalate and (I) titanium dioxide, coumarone-indene resin, tall oil rosin, and nylon; (II) titanium dioxide, tall oil rosin and nylon; (III) titanium dioxide, coumarone-indene resin, tall oil rosin and polyethylene terephthalate; (IV) poly α-methyl styrene, talc and nylon; and (V) poly α-methyl styrene, talc and polyester flock.
