Abstract
1329711 Separable hinges A A CRANSTON 18 Dec 1970 [20 March 1970] 13723/70 Heading E2F Alternate tongues and shoulders on a first box member 1, e.g. a lid or base of a cabinet, are engaged in complementary slots and shoulders in a second member 4 to thereby hingedly connect the two members. As shown, Fig. 3B, the slot 13 may be formed in a plastics, e.g. nylon, angle member 12, 14 attached to the member 4 or, Fig. 4, formed directly in the side of the member. Alternatively, the slot may be formed in a flat, plastics strip (e.g. of nylon) attached to the second member's side. The first member may be flat, e.g. 11, Fig. 4, or box shaped, e.g. 1, Fig. 3B. The central part of either limb 12 or 14 may be cut out of the angle member or, either the angle member or the plastics strip may be formed from two complementary parts.
