Abstract

1329259 Excavator teeth assemblies VICKERS RUWOLT PTY Ltd 9 Sept 1970 [9 Sept 1969] 43132/70 Heading E1F A tooth 18 or tooth-carrying structure is held secured on a mounting portion 5a, 5b attached to or forming part of a body 3 mountable on 'the digging means of an excavator by the frictional engagement of only the side surfaces of the tooth or structure with at least two locking surfaces 14, 15 on the mounting portion, all said locking surfaces 14, 15 extending both substantially at right angles to the tooth surface 18a encountering major loading when the tooth is excavating and angularly of each other in directions away from the body portion. The side surfaces and the locking surfaces may be flat and/or curved. Locating ribs 11 may be formed on those surfaces of the tooth or structure and the mounting portion that are substantially at right angles to the surface 14, 15. A number of configurations of the co-operating parts of the tooth or tooth-carrying structure and the mounting portion are described.
