Abstract

1329121 Gas-liquid mixer ATOMIC ENERGY OF CANADA Ltd 9 Sept 1970 [18 Sept 1969] 43154/70 Heading B1C A gas-liquid mixer comprises a conduit 1 having an inlet 2 for liquid and an outlet 3 for gas-liquid mixture discharge, a chamber 6 having an inlet 7 for a gas, circumferentially spaced apertures 24 enabling the gas to pass from the chamber into the conduit, and an elongated tapered member 23 defining a reduced annular flow area whose radial clearance 31 is constant in the region of the apertures. The clearance is adjustable in size by moving the member 23 upstream or downstream by means of a rod 33. The mixer may lie upstream of a fuel rod in a fog-cooled nuclear reactor.
