1328984 Switchgear structures DELLEALSTHOM 10 Sept 1970 [11 Sept 1969] 43437/70 Heading H1N A switchgear cubicle has compartments separable by means of rigid, horizontal metal panels which can be moved to a second, vertical position in which they close the front of the cubicle for normal working. Isolating switches 4, 5, shown in their earthed position, are mounted on each side of circuit breakers 2, within the central compartment of a cubicle, the compartments being defined by the two slidable metal panels 10, 11. These panels separate the compartment containing the circuit breakers from those containing the bus-bars 25 and the cable box 26, and, on withdrawal, can be turned to a vertical position so as to become a front closure. Windows 8, 16 are provided, together with interlock controls 17 and the control 6 for the circuit breakers and isolating switches. The interlocks, see Fig. 3 (not shown), prevent withdrawal of the circuit breakers as long as the panels 10, 11 are not in their closed, horizontal position, and further prevent the sliding of the panels from the closed position if the circuit breakers are withdrawn. In addition the operation of the isolating switches, circuit breakers are interlocked and cable box compartment door is also interlocked with the panel 11. A voltage transformer and various bus-bar arrangements may be mounted in the circuit breaker saddle in addition to the circuit breakers themselves.
