Abstract

1327892 Headlamp wiping and washing installation SWF-SPEZIALFABRIK FUR AUTOZUBEHOER GUSTAV RAU GmbH 19 April 1971 [23 Jan 1970] 20302/71 HeadingA4F A headlamp wiper installation comprises a headlamp wiper motor M1 a headlamp wiper switch WiS1 and a light switch LS wherein the light switch has a contact connectable with a potential supply, a further contact connected to a contact 53a of the headlamp wiper switch of which a further contact 53 is connected to the headlamp wiper motor M1. As shown in Fig.2, the light and wiping switch contacts 58, 53a are connected via a contact r of a relay R. The potential supplied to the windscreen washer P1 operates relay R and is also supplied to a headlamp washer contact P of a combined headlamp washer and wiper switch WWS1. The arrangement thus provides that the headlamp is only washed and wiped when the headlight is "on", the windscreen washer is "on" and the push button switch WWS1 which controls both the headlamp washer motor M1 and wiper pump P1 is also "on". The power for the relay could alternatively be provided from a contact of the windscreen wiper motor Mo, for example 153 or 253. In an alternative arrangement, Fig.3 (not shown), the relay is dispensed with and the terminal B of the windscreen washer switch is connected to a terminal 53a of the headlamp wiper and washer switch WWS1 via two contacts of the light switch which are connected when the light is switched "on". A headlamp pump P1 is connected between either a contact (53), Fig.3 (not shown), supplying the headlamp wiper motor M1, or a contact of the parking switch RS1, and earth.
