Abstract

1327206 Sliding lid box; package C P CONSEILLER EN PACKAGING SA 2 Sept 1970 [3 Dec 1969] 41966/70 Headings B8C and B8P A sliding lid box comprises a plastics container and a cardboard lid 3 engaged in longitudinal grooves formed in the container and secured in a closed position by at least one removable or disengageable locking tongue provided on the lid 3. The grooves are formed by turning over longitudinal flanges 2 when the lid 3 is positioned on the container. In the embodiment shown a locking tongue 4 is connected to the lid 3 by a perforated line 5 and projects through a gap in the folded over flange. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 3) both ends of the lid (3) extending beyond the grooves are provided with locking tongues (6, 7), one (7) of which is connected to the lid 3 through perforations (5). In a further embodiment tongues (8, Fig. 4) on the ends of the lid are turned over on to and glued to the lid. Before the lid 3 is placed on the flanges 2 and the flanges 2 bent over to form the grooves the contents to be packaged are placed in the container.
