Abstract

1325778 Polyamide compositions ASAHI KASEI KOGYO KK 19 April 1971 [5 March 1970] 23272/71 Heading C3R A composition comprises: (A) a polyamide, (B) polyethylene glycol or derivative, and #0À01% wt., based on (A), of (C) a C# 11 aliphatic acid, salt, ester, alcohol, amine, or amide, or a hydrocarbon of b.p. #200‹ C.; the salt is formed with metals in Group I, II, or III of the Periodic Table. The composition may comprise a higher aliphatic acid or amine added as a viscosity stabilizer during the polymerization forming polyamide (A); (B) may be a polyethylene glycol monopolymer, or polyethylene glycol combined with a polyamide via ester, amide, or urethane linkages; or polymers formed by adding the foregoing polymers to compounds containing active H-atoms, e.g., organic acids, alcohols, amines, or amides. There may be 0À5-10% wt. of (B), and 0À01- 2%wt.of(C); (B) and (C) may be added to (A) during or after polymerization, or at the time of spinning. Fibres spun from the composition have permanent antistatic effect without interfilamentary adhesion.
