Abstract
1325657 Barium ribose-5-phosphate hexahydrate BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM GmbH 11 May 1972 [14 May 1971] 22068/72 Heading C2P The novel compound, triclinic, crystalline barium ribose-5-phosphate hexahydrate having a melting point of 79-80‹ C., a specific rotation of [α]<SP>25</SP> D = + 13À6‹ (IN acetic acid) and the following lattice constants: a = 12À20 Œ 0À02 Angstroms α = 91‹ 35' Œ 5' b = 8À77 Œ 0À02 Angstroms # = 111‹ 54' Œ 5' c = 15À07 Œ 0À03 Angstoms γ = 93‹ 05' Œ 5', may be prepared by dissolving amorphous barium ribose-5-phosphate in water at 25-35‹ C. and cooling the solution to 0-4‹ C. Crystallization may be initiated by the addition of seed crystals or by scratching the vessel used.
