1325385 Knitting machines AISIN SEIKI K K 6 Aug 1971 [6 Aug 1970] 36968/71 Heading D1C A flat-bed knitting machine carriage has cam tracks B, D, C for the passage of needles selected respectively to tuck, pattern by plating and knit, the latter track comprising an auxiliary lifting cam 15 above each of a pair of lifting cams 9 and pivotable between low and high lift positions in the second of which an associated blocking member 16 blocks the pattern stitch cam track C. Latch needles 5 slide between protruding sinkers 4 across which a manually movable carriage runs on parallel guide rails 6, 7. Pivoted lifting and stitch cams 9 are angularly adjustable by knob 11 and have, pivoted to their lower ends and biassed against boundary cam (14), raising cams (12), Fig. 2 (not shown). Cams 15 pivoted on pivots 17 above cams 9 have arcuate upstanding walls 15a, 15b forming a groove for the passage of needle butts. Pivoted also on pivots 17 but movable through a different angle are blocking cams 16. Cam 15 and members 16 are actuated by a member 34 with slots 37, 38 which is slid on pins 35, 36 manually by means of knob 39. A bell crank lever 40 at each end of member 34 has a stud 42 in one arm 40a engaged in a slot 43 in member 34 and a slot to receive stud 44 on the associated cam 15. A stud 46 on each member 16 is permanently biassed into contact therewith. Fabric presser means P prevents the fabric from rising up the needle stems.
