Abstract
1324997 Making parts for die pressing PRESSED STEEL FISHER Ltd 29 Oct 1970 [30 Oct 1969] 53288/69 Heading B5A [Also in Division B3] Parts for use in die-pressing &c. are made by machining grooves 14 in a workpiece 13, Fig. 1, casting a second member 17 on the workpiece, Fig. 2 (not shown), removing the second member 17 and filling the grooves therein with material 18, Fig. 3, which is initially manually-workable, and then removing excess material 18 with a strickle 19 to form a contoured surface 16. As described, a synthetic resin 17 is moulded on to the workpiece 13, in which the grooves 14 have been milled in a numerically-controlled machine. The material of the workpiece and of substance 18 is not specified, except that the substance 18 should have a contrasting appearance to that of member 17 to facilitate the strickling operation.
