Abstract

1324027 Magnetic switches J G MERCKENS KG 6 Oct 1970 [7 Oct 1969 16 June 1970] 47526/70 Heading H1N A magnetic switch with alternative positions for its driving magnet 15, or 19 has a centrally pivoted driven magnet 4 of elongate shape, magnetized in its longitudinal direction and mounted within a non-magnetic housing 7 which also includes a holding armature 6. The magnet 3 will have two stable positions with an end adjacent one or the other end of the armature 6 and the other end of the magnet engaging a respective stop surface of the housing 7. The armature carries contacts which co-operate with fixed contacts 12. The driving magnet is either a pivoted magnet 15 or 31 a float arm or a magnet 19 rectilinearly movable parallel to the pivot axis 3 of the magnet 4. The driving magnet 31 is coated with stainless steel 32 and provided with screens 35, 36 to limit attraction of magnetic particles. The housing may be mounted by a clamp device 8, 9, 10, and a plurality of housings may be arranged to co-operate with a single float mounted magnet (Fig. 5, not shown).
