Abstract

1322832 Travellers EADIE BROS & CO Ltd 15 May 1972 [25 May 1971] 16778/71 Heading DID A steel ring spindle traveller 1 is gold plated in the region 3 which contacts the ring. This region may be pre-plated with a metal electrochemically intermediate steel and gold e.g. cobalt nickel or tin. The thread contacting region 2 of the traveller is chrome plated in such a way as to produce surface asperities which is said to give a constant friction coefficient between the thread and the traveller.
