Abstract

1321702 Vitamin B 12 RICHTER GEDEON VEGYESZETI GYAR RT 24 Sept 1970 [26 Sept 1969] 45617/70 Heading C2V A fermentation broth containing vitamin B 12 obtained by fermentation with methanobacteria or propionibacteria, is mixed with a biologically utilizable adsorbent material, e.g. starch, yeast or fungus mycelia, and the adsorbent with adsorbed bacterium cells containing vitamin B 12 are separated from the liquid and dried. The dry material may be used in feedstuffs or may be extracted with methanol to obtain crystalline vitamin B 12 . Examples are given.
