Abstract
1321391 Joints for tubular organs CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED 13 Jan 1971 [14 Jan 1970] 1573/71 Heading A5R A device, for stitchlessly connecting the severed ends of a tubular organ comprises a ring 1, Fig. 3, over which the organ ends 2 and 3 are pulled and a fastening device 4 which clamps the organ ends and is retained by engagement with a groove 5 in the ring 1. The engagement may alternatively be by means of screw threads Fig. 4 (not shown). In place of the fastening device encircling rings may be used Figs. 1 and 2, not shown). In another embodiment, Fig. 5, two rings 1 and 1a are used, one for each organ end, and are clamped together by an integral bridging piece 8 and a fastener 7. Alternately two fasteners may be employed without the bridging piece, Fig. 6 (not shown). The device is made from a hydrophilic or hydrophobic gel. The rings may have textile reinforcement.
