In the arrangement Fig. 1, a cross-bar switch 7 enables the input test signal from generator 1 to be compared with the output of either item 3, or items 3 and 4, or items 3, 4, and 5, or the entire circuit. Testing of each individual item is not directly possible. In the arrangement of Fig. 2, the two path cross-bar switch 10 enables the form of the test signal at the input of any item to be compared with its form at the output of the item. In the arrangement of Fig. 4 (not shown) the original test signal can be fed to the input of any of the items and the resultant output of the item analyzed.
