Abstract

1320709 Pressurized dispensing container valves CLAYTON CORP 7 Oct 1970 [17 Oct 1969] 47594/70 Heading F1R A valve assembly for a pressurized dispensing container includes a valve member 22 comprising a head portion 26 co-operating with an annular seal 11 and with radially bendable spring means 31 which urge the head against a seal 11 and which are deformable when the head portion is displaced relative to the seal, to allow for discharge through the valve assembly. As shown the spring means 31, of moulded plastics material, comprises a plurality of vertical members 31, split by openings 32 and integral with a cup-like adapter member 15. The vertical members have upwardly and outwardly sloping faces 33 which abut a projection 28 of the head portion 26. A central shaft portion 36 having feed grooves 37 extends into the member 15 and prevents lateral tilting of the valve member 22 although in an embodiment Fig. 6 (not shown) a short stub extension (136) having a tip (138) is provided explicitly to allow for discharge by tilt operation.
