Abstract

1318928 Cycle chain cases W J L VAN DER WOERD 30 Nov 1970 [30 Nov 1969] 56832/70 Heading B7J A cycle chain case comprises halves 1 and 2 formed of plastics material and of U-section which are provided with recesses 5 and 6 for a pedal crank axle and recesses 9 for a rear axle of the cycle, the contacting edges of the halves interfitting with one another and being secured by pins or spring clips, Fig. 5 (and shown), and the edges of at least one of the halves in the region 8 being spaced either by a strip 10 or by internal projections Fig. 6 (not shown). The edges of recesses 9 may be located on the bifurcated ends of a T-shaped bracket located on the rear axle to support the rear end of the case. The front end of the case is supported by having the recesses 5 located in a channel 23 formed in a centreing disc 18, a flange 21 of the disc being connected to the spokes of the drive sprocket 20. The disc may be formed in two halves.
