Abstract

1318655 Illuminated display devices W THOMSEN and W CARSTENS 11 Dec 1970 [2 Jan 1970] 58938/70 Heading G5C An illuminated display pillar has a pair of fixed windows 7, 8 and a pair of retractable windows 17, 18, behind each of which a poster 16 held between two transparent foils 14, 15 is fixed, the illumination effected by a number of tubular lamps 6. The windows 17, 18 each comprise an arcuate pane 19 held by profiled strips 20, 21, behind which the poster assembly 14-16 is held by strips 23, 24. The strip 23 is associated with a T-strip 22 and the upward groove so formed engages with the profiled strip 10 of a ring 12, the window being held in place by a screw 25. The fixed windows 7, 8 are surrounded by top and bottom strips 10 and side strips 11, the outer grooves of the strips 10 engaging with the ring 12 and pedestal portion 1, and the poster assembly is held between two strips 13. To replace the posters, the windows 17, 18 are removed and thus the posters, with the foils, can be slid out of their supports 13, 23, 24. In cross-section the pillar can be polygonal.
