Abstract

1317363 Delivering sheets NORFIN INC 27 April 1971 [4 May 1970] 11615/71 Heading B8R Sheets are delivered on to a plurality of shelves 4, arranged in a vertual row in a bin 2 between side guides comprizing a pair of jogging rods 44, 56 which are oscillated towards and away from the sheet stackers in side recesses in the shelves to square up the stacks by means of a linkage actuated by a motor-driven rotary eccentric 22 through an arm 26 carrying a cam roller 24 and pivoted on a bracket 28 slidable against a compression spring on a rod 62, so that if the mechanism becomes jammed the arm 26 can pivot about its mounting on a lever arm 30, which is itself pivoted to a bracket 32 adjustable along the rod 62 according to the width of the sheets. The jogging rods can be swung outwards clear of the shelves after raising them to release them from locking elements 42, 54. The rod 56 and associated linkage may be omitted and replaced by a flat side stop wall. In another form, the shelves have two recesses on each side, and a jogging rod is oscillated in each of the four recesses, the linkage being modified accordingly.
