Abstract
1317102 Packaging machines WENTCROFT ENGS Ltd 6 Dec 1971 [13 Jan 1971] 1628/71 Heading B8C In a packaging machine, an empty container 35 is placed in a frame 24 which is then rotated by 180 degrees about a shaft 34 to invert the container, a plurality of fingers 21, carried by the frame 24, are raised to place a stack 20 of packets into the inverted container, and the frame is rotated back through 180 degrees. The frame carries a cylinder 28, the piston 29 of which is secured to a bracket 26 carrying the fingers 21. Packets are supplied by a conveyer 10 and are formed into a row on supports 15 by paddles 13 secured to endless chains 14. The supports 15 then pivot to drop the row on to a support 18, which is lowered after measuring a row, to form the stack 20 which is then pushed on to the fingers 21.
