Abstract

1316815 Inflatable emergency escape shoot GARRETT CORP 26 May 1970 25204/70 Heading B7J An inflatable escape shoot, suitable for use with aircraft, comprises an inflatable mattress like structure 10 having a substantially horizontal walkway portion 22 supportable at 12 on the wing of an aircraft, and an integral slide portion 24 extending downwardly to ground level. The portions 22 and 24 which are constructed of air impervious fabric each have strips of fabric within them tying the top wall of the section to the bottom wall, thus preventing "ballooning" when in use. Inflatable handrails 46, 50, 56, 58, 60 and 62 are provided which are erected on inflation of the structure 10. A separate, similarly constructed portion 34 is provided on the wing 14. In an alternative embodiment Fig. 5, the walkway and slide sections are separate, and the walkway section is provided with a support 108.
