Abstract

1316571 Sulphamic acid complexes DIPENIDAM Ltd 11 May 1970 [10 Feb 1969] 7120/69 Heading C2C A complex of an ethoxylated amine salt of sulphamic acid and iodine is prepared by reacting substantially equimolar amounts of ethoxylated amine, e.g. formed by condensation of 2 molecules of ethylene oxide per molecule of a mixture of primary amines with an average chain length of 12, and sulphamic acid in an aqueous medium to form a salt and then adding iodine. Other acids, e.g. sulphuric, hydrochloric or sulphonic acids may replace the sulphamic acid. The complex has disinfectant properties.
