Abstract
1316541 Sliver halide emulsion ILFORD Ltd 29 March 1972 [18 March 1971] 7218/71 Heading G2C In a silver halide emulsion, the binder comprises gelatin and a copolymer latex derived from (a) a C 1-3 alkyl acrylate or methacrylate and (b) an amino C 2-6 alkyl acrylate or methacrylate sulphate or hydrochloride. The ratio of (b) to (a) may be up to 1:4. The ratio of latex to gelatin may be up to 3:2. The copolymer latex may be produced in an aqueous medium in the presence of a surfactant, e.g. an alkyl aryl polyethylene oxide of alkyl aryl polyether sulphate. The latex is resistant to the sedimenting action of divalent cadmium or lead.
