Abstract

1315182 Wind deflectors for vehicles CARA-VAN FITTINGS Ltd 22 Sept 1971 [22 July 1970] 35464/70 Heading B7J In order to cut down the air pressure, and thus the drag, which builds up on the front of a caravan when being towed by a vehicle B, the vehicle has attached thereto an aerofoil wind deflector apparatus comprising an aerofoil A mounted transversely of the roof or hood of the vehicle to deflect air passing over the vehicle upwards over the roof of the caravan. The aerofoil is mounted on plates a pivoted on a rod or tube a<SP>2</SP> having bent-down ends which are attached to the vehicle roof gutter by brackets a<SP>3</SP>. The aerofoil is inclined at substantially 45 degrees to the horizontal.
