Abstract

1315093 Discharging and transferring carriers from endless conveyers SOVEX Ltd 8 Nov 1971 [8 Feb 1971] 4174/71 Heading B8A In a conveyer of the kind described in Specification 1,206,271, the carriers 1 when descending to a station at which a discharge is to be effected, engage the arms 8 of a discharge member 7 pivotally mounted at 9. The member 7 is attracted to its discharge position from an inoperative position (broken lines, Fig. 1) by a solenoid (not shown) acting on the pivot 9. The engagement between the carrier 1 and the arms 8, lifts the carrier off suspension pegs 6 of the conveyer chains, and the weight of the carrier then pivots the member 7 to the broken-line position. Projections 3 of the carrier 1 then engage a shoot 14 which transfers the carrier to spaced conveyer belts 16a, 16b of a conveyer 15. The belts 16a, 16b, overlap further similar belts 19a, 19b, which dump the carrier 1 (standing on its base) on a conveyer belt (25).
