Abstract

1314424 Offshore structures BALLAST NEDAM GROEP NV 5 May 1970 [5 May 1969] 21691/70 Heading E1H [Also in Division Fl] Rams 4 to sink a buoyant tunnel-segment are carried by a platform comprising a deck 2, vertically-movable legs 3 and hydraulic jacks 7. 8 to adjust the horizontal position of the segment, these jacks being supported by vertically-movable bridges 5, 6 on the legs and furnished with buffers 9, 10. The buffer 10 may be attached to the segment, Fig. 2 (not shown). The jacks are controlled manually or automatically with the aid of a probe jack (18), Fig. 4 (not shown), and can be used as shockabsorbers. In a second embodiment, Figs. 5 to 7 (not shown), the segment is coupled to the bottom ends of the rams by transverse and longitudinally-orientated jacks and jacks carrying the buffers are pivotally coupled to the deck. The transverse and longitudinallyorientated jacks may be coupled to the segment by further jacks such that they can be disconnected and recovered, Figs. 8 and 9 (not shown).
