Abstract
1314154 Semi-conductor devices PIONEER ELECTRONIC CORP 20 April 1971 [21 April 1970] 10166/71 Heading H1K A Hall device comprises a Hall element 4 formed on an insulating substrate 3 together with terminal leads 5 and 6, the terminal leads terminating at a common edge of the substrate, and a metal plate 1 comprising leads 2 which make contact with the terminal leads at the said edge of the substrate and also provide support for the substrate. The free ends of the leads 2 may be bent about the edge of the substrate and soldered to the terminal leads. The device, with the exception of the top parts of the leads may be encapsulated in an insulating resin, and the leads cropped at b prior to use. The element 4 may be of indium antimonide and may be evaporated on to, or adhered to, the substrate 3. The terminal leads may be of copper or silver, and the leads may also be of copper.
