Abstract

1312747 Sirens KOCKUMS MEKANISKA VERKSTADS AB 28 Sept 1971 [5 Oct 1970] 45146/71 Heading G5J [Also in Division H2] A piston siren is operated by temperature responsive control of the output speed of a drive source by the application of additional voltages of ;he same or opposite polarity in series with one or more phase conductors supplying the drive source such that the drive source torque acting upon the piston siren and the loading torque of the piston siren always are identical at a speed immediately below the speed corresponding to the maximum loading torque and shifted in response to temperature. The additional voltages are generated by a transformer and the secondary winding of this transformer is also utilized for heating the motor winding during standstill to prevent condensation damage, both of these effects being controlled automatically by thermostat contacts which are set to operate when the ambient temperature passes certain predetermined values.
