Abstract

1311859 Reversible hinge F W J MULLETT 26 June 1970 [8 Sept 1969] 44221/69 Heading E2F A gate comprises a tubular frame 4 and a sleeve 5 having means 6 for attachment to a support structure, the sleeve being slidably and rotatably mounted on the frame 4 and having saw-toothed castellations 7, 10 at each end adapted for cooperation with a projection, e.g. a pin, 9, on the frame 4; the castellations being so arranged that the gate can be converted from left hand to right hand opening by inverting the gate. A notch 8 may be disposed between each castellation. The means 6 may comprise half a scaffold fitting welded to the sleeve. A single pin 9 may be provided between two spaced sleeves 5 or spaced pins may be provided on either side of a single sleeve 5. The gate may be a safety gate for scaffolding.
