Abstract

1311464 Spray guns; mixing apparatus CONTROSION ELECTROSTATIC Ltd 3 March 1970 [3 Dec 1968] 57425/68 Headings B1C and B2F A spray gun for the spraying of paints or other fluids or powder e.g. for electrostatic spraying, comprises a rotatable disk F and two or more inlet passages C C' leading to nozzles D whereby fluids or powder can be fed separately to the disk and mixed by the rotation thereof. Disk F partially encloses a mixing chamber formed by wall 6 and base H so that in operation a mixture is formed in compartment G' and this mixture escapes through annular passage L around the edge of the disk for delivery through the orifice of the gun. Disk F is driven by motor J. The mixing chamber may be fixedly mounted or mounted for rotation, either by motor J or by induction through the whirling of the fluids. The inlet passages are valve-controlled so that the gun may be adjusted to deliver any mixture of the fluids fed to the inlets or a selected single one of such fluids.
