Abstract
1311250 Rolling mills J L SEMENENKO N V TUMANOV and L M VARAVA 15 June 1971 [15 June 1970] 27933/71 Heading B3M A straightening machine for rods or tubes of circular cross-section includes a pair of rolls 4 and 5 each having two end portions and an intermediate groove 9. The rolls are carried in a rotatable frame 3 mounted at its ends in bearings 16, the rolls rotating about the axis of a workpiece 7. Each roll is supported in a yoke 17 attached by a bush 20 to the frame, the bush allowing adjustment of the skew angle and radial position of the roll. The surface of the roll 4 is of-convex form, while that of roll 5 is concave. The groove 9 between the roll portion accommodates a pair of adjustable guide rolls 10. Inlet and entry guide tubes 8 are provided at opposite ends of the frame.
