Abstract

1310885 Steps for rope ladders DUNLOP HOLDINGS Ltd 28 Oct 1970 [20 Nov 1969] 56867/69 Addition to 935645 Heading E1S In a rope ladder comprising parallel spacedapart support ropes 3 and moulded elastomeric steps 1, the steps have guides 7, 8 extending along the ropes adjacent the steps to prevent the steps tilting, and at least one step has extensions 10 which project at each end beyond the ropes and in the plane of the ladder to contact the object being climbed to prevent the ladder twisting. Pairs of holes 2 are provided for the ropes, the wedge-shaped guides 7, 8 being formed on both surfaces of the step between the holes of each pair. The extended steps are preferably of angle-section, as shown, and may be five times as long as non-extended steps. The extensions 10 may be moulded integrally or attached.
