Abstract

1310081 Egg containers GEORG UTZ AG 19 April 1971 [26 Feb 1970] 24367/71 Headings B8C and B8P A stackabe container for two stacks of egg racks 16 comprises inclined side walls 2-5 provided with internal ribs 13 having vertical edges 13a for restricting lateral movement of the stacks. The side walls have vent holes 14 which can be blanked off by pieces of cardboard fed between adjacent ribs 13. A projection 15 is provided on each of the longitudinal walls 2, 5 for ensuring correct location of the lowermost rack 16 of each stack. The side walls 2, 5 have ribs 12 for separating the stacks of racks. The bottom 6 of the container is provided with a pair of slots 17 under each stack so that a U-shaped member may be fed therethrough to eject the stack. The container may be stacked by locating an external rib 10 on the flange 17 of a lower container. The rib 10 is connected to an upper rib 9 by vertical reinforcing ribs. 8. The egg racks may be of cardboard or synthetic resin. The container is injection moulded from a synthetic resin.
